INTRODUCTION:

 

The main purpose of book bank facility is to help the students belonging to economically and socially weaker sections of the society and the facility is also available for all categories of students on first-cum-first serve basis.

 

Book Bank functions as one section of the central library.

Membership:

 

Book Bank facility is a semester based scheme in which books are issued to SC/ST/OBC categories of students.  

 

Depending upon the availability of the sets of books the priority will be given to the students on first come first served basis. Membership of the Book Bank is optional.

Students desirous to become the member of the Book Bank Scheme may contact the central library 

​

Books in Book Bank can be returned on or before the due date but another book cannot be issued in place of that.

GENERAL RULES:

​

  • A student has to apply in the prescribed form separately available for book bank in the library.

  • Students will get one set (01) of books at the beginning of each semester as per the schedule notified for the purpose.

  • The books will be issued on first come first served basis.

  • The book-Bank books are issued in addition to the regular library books.

  • Books will be issued for whole semester.  Students will have to return all book bank issued books in good condition to the GST library on or before the last theory examination of university in respective semesters.

 

  • A fine of Rs. 05/- per day per book will be levied if books are not returned as per due date given.

 

  • The book bank books issued are non transferable.

 

  • Membership will be treated cancelled as and when students leave the college.

 

  • If any student availing the facility loses the book / damages the book / disfigures the book, he / she shall replace the volume(s) with new book (or pay the current cost of the book plus fine, if any, as may be directed by authority).  Hence, students are advised to verify the physical condition of the books at the time of its lending.

  • The library can recall issued books for checking at any time.
